Azerbaijani Seminary Student urges Global Advocacy for Hijab-Wearing Girls in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijani international student at Jamiat Al-Zahra Seminary has called on Muslim women and media activists to use their language skills and social media platforms to amplify the voices of hijab-wearing girls in Azerbaijan and expose the restrictions imposed on them to the world.

Hawzah News Agency- Yeganeh Naghiyeva, an international seminary student at Jamiat Al-Zahra Seminary from Azerbaijan, spoke at a gathering of female seminary students held in support of hijab-wearing girls in Azerbaijan, calling for support from Muslim women and international activists for the rights of Azerbaijani hijab-wearing girls.

She stated that the crackdown on the hijab and religious restrictions has created serious concerns for Muslim families, noting: "Today, hijab-wearing Azerbaijani girls face difficulties in adhering to their beliefs, and some of them have been forced to choose between preserving their hijab and continuing their education under harsh conditions."

The international seminary student at Jamiat Al-Zahra Seminary, referring to the approaching Fatimiyya mourning period, addressed the women: "Dear sisters, you who are fluent in various languages and active in international arenas—be the voice of Azerbaijani girls. Write in whatever language you can about what they are going through, and do not let their voices go unheard in the world."

Naghiyeva, highlighting the difficulties facing hijab-wearing Azerbaijani girls, added: "Many of these girls stand firm to preserve their beliefs, but they feel alone on this path. In the early days, more people came out to defend their rights, but existing pressures have caused some to abandon this path."

Recalling the oppression of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her) and the steadfastness of Hazrat Zainab (peace be upon her), she emphasized the necessity of perseverance in defending religious values, saying: "Today, more than ever, we need solidarity and support. We may feel alone on this path, but we will not abandon our Islamic beliefs and our hijab."

The Azerbaijani woman also chanted slogans in support of hijab freedom and condemned the policies of the United States and the Zionist regime, emphasizing the need for global public attention to the situation of Muslim and hijab-wearing women.

In conclusion, she expressed gratitude to those present at the gathering, stressed the important role of social media in conveying the voices of hijab-wearing Azerbaijani women to the world, and called on media activists and Muslim women to produce and disseminate content in various languages to shed light on the situation of these girls and advocate for their rights.
